Since a very eary age, Daunte Hernderson has exhibited a love for several forms of creative media. His expressive talents have taken him to the galleries of the St. Louis Art Museum and garnered him many awards in visual art and writing. A 2008 graduate of Bradley University, Daunte also serves as the founder of M.A.D.E.M.A.N (Making A Difference for Each Man), a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting youth through positive mentorship and the teachings of Jesus Christ. As an educator, motivator, artist and most importantly a believer in Jesus Christ, Daunte lives by his favorite scripture, Matthew 6:33, and encourages others to do the same. |

| Local author will be signing his 9th novel, NOT WAVING, DROWNING. A panhandler has a plum situation in the city, until she takes in a stray dog. A process server is caught relieving himself in an alley, a seemingly mundane event that sets off a cascade of ever-worsening misfortunes. During their getaway, two bank robbers make a wrong turn and accidentally end up in St. Louis’ Hibernian Parade – a serious problem since Black Irish are not welcome. These are some of the hapless characters in “Not Waving, Drowning, Wm. Stage’s new work containing eight short stories, all set in the St. Louis area. Drawn from people he has either known or observed, the characters in these stories ring true, evoking drollery, pathos, and wonder. |

| Join us for a Read Mob! On World Book Night, 50,000 givers will be passing out a million free books, each to random members of their communities. In St. Louis, the Independent Bookstore Alliance is teaming up not only to pass out books, but to create the Best Reading Flash Mob EVER! (don't worry, no dance moves) And we want you to join us! Want to get involoved? It's free and it's fun! Sign up to be a giver, pick which book YOU want to give away, then meet us on the steps under the Arch at 12:30 PM (downtwon at lunchtime will have plenty of people wandering around who need a free book) to perform a "Read Mob" - it's like a flash mob, but we'll be calmly reading and spelling out a message, then dispersing to pass out books). It's going to be fun, and the video should be awesome, so don't miss out! Monday, April 16th we'll host a World Book Night Prep Reception where we'll practice our flash mob, pick up our books, and meet other fanatic fans of books and reading. Details to come.
